7 main zone + 1 endgame zone.
n mini-zone accessible via routes
Each zone will have several starpost
Each zone will contain some subzone/action stage, some mandatory, some bonus
Each zone will contain a set of subgames
They'll also have "interest area"
There will be routes à la Pokémon between Zones, and between Zone and Mini-Zones

The main zones will be designed around common Sonic level tropes, the mini-zones will remix them a bit.
